The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Delhi government and police seeking an explanation for the widespread bursting of firecrackers on Diwali despite a ban. The court, expressing concern over the violation of its order and the resulting air pollution, has suggested a year-round ban on firecrackers in the National Capital Region and proposed stringent measures for enforcement.
