The Supreme Court upheld the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madrasa Education Act, stating that minorities do not have an absolute right to administer educational institutions. While the state can regulate standards, the court ruled that the Act cannot regulate higher education degrees like Fazil and Kamil, as it falls under the UGC Act’s purview.
