A couple was apprehended at Kolkata’s Shalimar Station for attempting to sell a two-day-old baby girl. The CID has initiated an investigation to locate the child’s biological parents and dismantle the inter-state trafficking ring operating through social media platforms. Posing as a childless couple, undercover detectives infiltrated the group and arranged the child’s purchase for Rs 4 lakh.
