For the first time in IPL history, the auction is being hosted outside India, taking place at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The arena, with a seating capacity of 15,000, sets the stage for an electrifying bidding war. A total of 577 players are in the fray, including 367 Indians and 210 overseas cricketers. Notably, the original pool of 574 players expanded with the addition of England’s Jofra Archer, USA’s Saurabh Netravalkar, and India’s Hardik Tamore. The franchises have 204 slots to fill, including 70 designated for overseas players. By the auction’s conclusion, each team must assemble a squad of at least 18 players.
