A local train hit a 15-foot iron rod on the tracks between Khar and Santacruz stations. The motorman stopped the train and reported the incident. Police investigated and arrested a 20-year-old suspect. The suspect admitted to placing the rod on the tracks. He wanted to sell it for money. The motorman’s quick action prevented a major accident.
