Former Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis has resigned from his position and announced his candidacy for Florida’s 1st Congressional District seat following an endorsement from Donald Trump. This comes after Matt Gaetz’s resignation amidst allegations of sexual misconduct and a federal investigation. The special election primary is scheduled for January 28, with the final election on April 1.
