The Centre has urged Tamil Nadu to reconsider its rejection of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, which aims to uplift traditional artisans and craftspeople. Tamil Nadu cited concerns over caste discrimination and plans to develop its own initiative. The scheme has registered 2.45 crore applications nationwide, including 8.52 lakh from Tamil Nadu, with significant representation from women and marginalized communities.
