The United States’ THAAD missile defense system was used in Israel for the first time to intercept a Houthi ballistic missile from Yemen. The interception’s success is under analysis, with no confirmation if it was by the American or Israeli system. THAAD is designed to destroy missiles using hit-to-kill technology.
