Supporters of former Nepali king Gyanendra Shah have raised Rs 4.8 lakh to help pay a penalty for damage during a pro-monarchy protest. The government had imposed an Rs 8 lakh fine for damage to public property. Meanwhile, Shah denied involvement in the unrest and criticized the government for its failures.
