Eleven Chinese and Russian military aircraft entered South Korea’s air defence identification zone (ADIZ) on Nov. 29. An ADIZ is a broader area than a country’s airspace in which it tries to control aircraft for security reasons. The incident occurred over a period of four hours, prompting South Korea to launch fighter jets, South Korea’s military said. The Russian and Chinese aircraft entered the area in sequence, and exited without incident or intruding South Korea’s airspace, Seoul said. South Korea’s military had identified the aircraft before they entered the zone and deployed air force jets, it said. The incident happened as Russian Defence Minister arrived in North Korea for an official visit on Nov. 29 amid deepening military cooperation between the two nations. Andrei Belousov met with his North Korean counterpart in string of high-level meeting lined up on the tour, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION1:58 RUSSIA-NORTH KOREA TIES AMID UKRAINE WAR3:06 RUSSIAN, CHINESE WARPLANES ENTER SOUTH KOREA’S ADIZ
