Devendra Fadnavis has been elected as the BJP’s Legislative Party leader in a key party meeting and is effectively set to become the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra.Meanwhile, Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday officially accepted the post of Deputy Chief Minister in the new government. He will take the oath as one of the two deputies, alongside NCP chief Ajit Pawar, on Thursday (December 5), sources told News18.Earlier today, Fadnavis met Shinde at Varsha bungalow at 2 PM, joined by Pawar. The discussion focused on the next steps, the allocation of cabinet portfolios, and finalising the list of leaders who will take the oath. The three leaders also addressed reporters from the Raj Bhawan.In the recently held state assembly polls, the Mahayuti alliance won 230 of the 288 assembly seats.
