US President-elect Donald Trump is likely to remove all transgender members from the US military soon after he returns to the White House. Trump is expected to sign an executive order on January 20, the first day he is back in the Oval Office. The order will lead to as many as 15,000 people, believed to be transgenders, out of their posts. The order would also ban the transgenders from joining the military in the future. The transgenders would be medically discharged, determining that they are unfit to serve. During his first term in office, Trump had declared that the US would no longer “accept or allow” trans people in the “tremendous medical costs and disruption”. In 2019, he imposed a ban, preventing transgender people from joining the armed forces, but allowing those already serving to keep their jobs. The order was rescinded by Joe Biden, but with Trump returning to White House, he is expected to immediately cancel Biden’s order. n18oc_world n18oc_crux
