The Supreme Court has urged the Indian government to make a decision on the mercy plea of Balwant Singh Rajoana, convicted in the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. Rajoana has been imprisoned for 29 years, with his mercy plea pending for 12.
