The Bangladesh government has banned the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2009, citing its involvement in murder, torture, rape, and terrorism. The ban follows violent attacks on students and public by BCL members since the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’s launch, leading to numerous deaths.
