Rahul Narwekar, BJP MLA, was re-elected unopposed as Maharashtra Assembly Speaker for a second term. The Maha Vikas Aghadi did not contest. His role is crucial in determining the Leader of Opposition, as the opposition holds less than 10% of the seats. Narwekar previously served as Speaker from July 2022, notably handling Shiv Sena MLA disqualification petitions.
