New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, a Democratic mayoral candidate, was arrested at a Manhattan immigration court after linking arms with a man federal agents were attempting to detain. Agents arrested Lander for allegedly assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer. Released after a few hours, Lander insisted he did not assault anyone and was there to support immigrants.
