Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, former leader of al-Qaeda’s Syrian branch, is rebranding himself as a moderate political figure. He broke from al-Qaeda in 2016, forming Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), and now presents a more pragmatic image.
