Heavy rains in Gujarat, particularly Saurashtra, caused 18 deaths since Monday. Most victims were struck by lightning. Normal life was disrupted in Rajkot, Amreli, Morbi, and Surendranagar. Overflowing rivers and dam releases led to alerts. Botad and Bhavnagar districts received extreme rainfall. Rescue operations were conducted for people trapped in floodwaters.
