A few days after filmmaker Shyam Benegal’s passing, his close friends and frequent collaborators, Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah, shared fond memories of his ‘wide, warm smile’ and his dedication to his work. Many from the film industry, including Javed Akhtar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Ila Arun, Prahlad Kakkar, Urmila Matondkar, and Divya Dutta, came together at a memorial held at the Y B Chavan Centre in south Mumbai on Saturday to pay tribute to Benegal.
