The Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to establish Child Tobacco Cessation Centres in all districts to counsel and treat students addicted to ‘Cool Lip,’ a banned tobacco product. The court mandated periodic inspections in schools and urged the Centre to officially ban ‘Cool Lip.’
