Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was fatally shot in a targeted attack outside the Hilton hotel in Manhattan on December 4. The 50-year-old was killed at 6:45 am while en route to UnitedHealth Group’s investor conference. Surveillance footage showed the gunman waiting outside the hotel five minutes before Thompson’s arrival. After shooting him in the back, the suspect continued firing even after the gun jammed. The masked assailant fled on foot and then escaped on an electric bike; he remains at large, with the police releasing his photos. n18oc_crux
