Jammu’s deputy chief minister, Surinder Choudhary, condemned the proposed ropeway project in Katra, arguing it threatens 40,000 livelihoods. Choudhary urged the shrine board and lieutenant governor to heed local concerns and highlighted the risk to key spiritual sites.
