President-elect Donald Trump is using his massive mandate to challenge Republican senators to confirm his Cabinet picks, who range from the predictable downright unconventional. Trump caught lawmakers off guard when he announced Fox News host and US Army veteran Pete Hegseth will lead the Pentagon. Then he picked Florida Representative Matt Gaetz to lead the Justice Department despite a House Ethics Committee investigation into allegations of sex trafficking.
