Germany has raised the possibility of outsider involvement behind the Nov. 25 crash of a cargo plane near the Lithuanian capital’s airport. The plane, which was coming from the German city of Leipzig, crashed about one kilometre from Vilnius airport. The DHL cargo jet hit several buildings as it skidded several hundred metres, according to the police and the logistics firm. The German foreign minister said “we must now seriously ask ourselves whether this was an accident or whether it was another hybrid incident.” Annalena Baerbock pointed to “several hybrid attacks in Europe on individuals, on infrastructure, be it underwater or hard infrastructures.”The term “hybrid” is commonly used to describe attacks that do not use conventional military tactics. Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, European countries have often used the term to describe actions against them that they believe originate from Moscow. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION2:34 LITHUANIA “CANNOT RULE OUT TERRORISM VERSION”4:22 DENMARK IN TALKS WITH CHINA OVER UNDERSEA CABLE ‘SABOTAGE’ INCIDENT5:46 G7 TO INCREASE PRESSURE ON CHINA
