NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams depart the International Space Station on March 18 in a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, marking the end of their nine-month mission. Originally intended to last only a week, their return was delayed due to issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. The crew, which also includes two other astronauts, is set for a 17-hour journey to Earth, with splashdown expected off Florida’s coast on March 19. Wilmore and Williams will have spent 286 days in space by the time of their return, longer than the average six-month mission. n18oc_world n18oc_crux
