Karnataka witnessed a 26% surge in women income tax return filers over the past five years, reaching 14.3 lakh in 2023-24. This growth outpaces the overall filer increase, with women now comprising a third of all filers. Nationally, Maharashtra leads with 36.8 lakh women filers, followed by Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
