A 29-year-old IT professional in Bengaluru was extorted Rs 8.1 lakh after booking an escort online, who posed as a police officer. She, along with a fake IPS officer, threatened and extorted money in multiple installments. When the victim sought help, she accused him of misbehavior but was detained and arrested by real police.
