The government is set to increase its stake in Vodafone Idea to 48.99% by acquiring shares worth Rs 36,950 crore in exchange for spectrum auction dues. This move, following a relief package introduced in 2022, aims to alleviate Vodafone Idea’s financial distress and address the company’s significant debts and AGR obligations.
