Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the Congress party for an alleged attack on deputy speaker Numal Momin by Congress MLAs, stating they have no right to lecture on freedom of expression. Momin claimed he was attacked in a ‘Maoist style’ and filed an FIR. The confrontation occurred while Congress MLAs protested BJP MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi’s conduct.
