Severe weather, including thunderstorms and lightning, led to at least 50 fatalities across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand on Thursday. Bihar reported 27 deaths, while UP saw 22, primarily from lightning strikes. Authorities issued alerts and announced compensation for the victims’ families, as the storms also caused significant damage to infrastructure.
