Three broken idols, including one of Lord Ganesh and possibly Lord Kartikeya, were discovered during well excavation near a recently reopened Shiv-Hanuman temple in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Sealed since the 1978 riots, the temple reopened on December 14th. Authorities secured the area for further excavation and held a prayer ceremony.
