A Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 crashed during a ‘belly landing’ at Muan International Airport, resulting in at least 85 deaths. The incident involved 181 people and possibly started due to bird strikes affecting the landing gear. Jeju Air, a major South Korean low-cost carrier, has had a strong safety record prior to this.
