Cyclonic storm Fengal crossed the North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts early Sunday, bringing heavy rainfall, high winds, and rough seas. The Veedur Dam in Tamil Nadu overflowed, flooding risk to nearby villages. In Chennai, airport operations halted and several flights were canceled. IMD expects Fengal to weaken into a deep depression as it moves westwards.
