A female Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces on the borders of Dantewada and Bijapur districts in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division. The encounter occurred during an anti-Maoist operation, and an INSAS rifle was recovered. Previously, 50 Maoists surrendered just before PM Modi’s visit, responding to ongoing appeals to eschew violence.
